Michelle has served in the financial planning industry since 1997 when she started her career with Madden and Associates. With over 20 years of industry experience and with an entrepreneurial spirit, Michelle formed River City Wealth Management where she currently serves her clients.

Michelle provides comprehensive financial planning, issue-based consulting, as well as asset allocation and management services to her clients. Through her personalized approach and attention to detail, it is evident that she has a dedication to both her clients and her chosen career. Michelle helps her clients articulate their needs, goals, and values and then designs a personal financial plan that helps align their investment portfolio with their objectives. With ongoing communication and closely monitoring her clients' portfolios, she helps enable them to stay on course.

During Michelle’s tenure, she has continually advanced her education within the financial planning field, earning her Registered Para-planner designation in 1998 and obtaining the CFP® designation in 2005. She is dedicated to advancing her knowledge in order to keep up with financial trends and strategies and is also a member of the Financial Planning Associates (FPA).

Michelle pledges to adhere to the CFP Board of Standards Code of Ethics and Professional Responsibility, including putting her clients’ interests in front of her own.

Michelle is married and has an adult step-son and teenage daughter. As a long-time resident of Jacksonville, she and her family enjoy the coastal lifestyle and various outdoor activities.

Brian Hughes, CFA, CFP®

Brian works with each of his clients to organize their financial picture, by helping define unique goals and charting a path to assist them in achieving those goals. His focus is on understanding each person by asking questions and taking the time to listen to what is important to them. Brian takes a numbers-based approach in creating customized recommendations for each prioritized goal. He likes to meet with clients quarterly to understand any changes in their finances, discuss progress to achieving goals, and make necessary adjustments to their investments or financial plan. He understands that life happens and goals change over time.

In addition to his role as an advisor, Brian also enjoys his responsibilities in monitoring markets and researching options for portfolios. He completes comprehensive research using both qualitative and quantitative measures to help choose investments that we feel best match the needs of the clients at River City Wealth Management.

Brian has served in the financial planning field in Jacksonville, FL, since 2006 when he started with Merrill Lynch. He left the brokerage world and joined the independent path with Madden Advisory Services, Inc. in 2014. In 2019, he joined River City Wealth Management with Michelle Barron at its foundation.

Brian is dedicated to advancing his knowledge and education in order to keep up with financial trends and strategies. He is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) Charter holder and holds the CFP® - CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNERTM designation. He graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from the University of Florida and a Master's in Business Administration (MBA) from Jacksonville University. He stays active in the professional community as a member of the CFA Society of Jacksonville, the Financial Planning Association (FPA) of Northeast Florida, and the World Affairs Council of Jacksonville.

When Brian is not working, you will likely find him traveling with his wife and son, reading a book, offshore fishing, trying to re-learn piano, or playing with his dog, Cider.

Tammy Cremeans, RP

Tammy provides administrative and operational support for River City Wealth Management. Among other things, she runs reports, schedules appointments, acts as a liaison with Charles Schwab, and handles service requests. In short, Tammy ensures a smooth experience for the clients and advisors at our firm.

Tammy has the professionalism, superb organization, and meticulous attention to detail that enable her to excel as a team player. Whether working directly with a client or assisting the advisors, it is evident that the client is always her top priority. Her goal is to make things easy for both the clients and River City Wealth Management advisors.

Tammy started in the financial services industry in 2013. She joined River City Wealth Management with six years of dedicated client service and industry experience in July of 2019. Tammy has earned the Financial Paraplanner (FPQP) professional designation during her time in the financial industry. The required education and industry experience have allowed her to obtain specialized skills to effectively support the advisors and, more importantly, River City Wealth Management clients.

Tammy is married with three adult children, two grandchildren, and two dogs. She enjoys spending time with her family (especially the grandchildren), being outdoors, listening to music and podcasts, and reading non-fiction books.
